Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Its Importance For Leaders
At the end of 2019, I was very clear about one thing: the year could be less exhausted! And arguably all the achievements could be earned with just 70% of the burnt energy.
In general, 2019 was one of the most successful years of my pro career. It was a challenging yet rewarding year. I built a new marketing team from the ground up and I brought new working standards. We delivered many important projects during the year and an “upgrade” in the marketing department was evident. But it had a price on it.
The more you challenge the status quo the more people feel threatened. The more they feel threatened the less they cooperate, and the less they cooperate the more you suffer. This must be disrupters’ burden. That’s why the stress was inevitable but manageable.
Amid these happenings, I’ve set myself a goal: spend 2020 emotionally intelligent! Therefore, I didn’t wait too much for starting my first certified EQ course. In the first week of January 2020, I finished Leading with Emotional Intelligence course by Britt Andreatta via LinkedIn Learning. Right after finishing the course, I also read Daniel Goleman’s bestseller Emotional Intelligence (1995).
